So I am successfully past my first flush with 18 jars using the mega growing kit. I had 100% colonization of my jars following the oven method with a handheld UV-C light to help out. Many years ago I tried to grow a batch from a syringe but I failed in my due diligence and had no success. Even if you have never looked up growing mushrooms before this is the only kit you need. Instruction are provided in a well printed and detailed instruction book. My mushrooms are delicious and they have a great long lasting flavor. I cannot give this kit enough credit.
Product came promptly & on time. Easy to use just follow the instructions! Just finished my first flush ever and the yield was higher than 50g dried. Not bad for a first go. Will be ordering from them in the future.
This is the second time I have ordered this kit and the only thing different are improvements! I was extremely pleased with my first order and when I got this one I was expecting the same products, however, the heating mat is different now, the directions are new and just as informative, and there are a few other things I can’t think of off the top of my head. Either way the shipping is very fast, the products always come undamaged and packed inconspicuously. Will order time and time again from this company: thanks Midwest!
the led light and the temp/humidity display are both too cheap, had to upgrade by putting a clear lid and using some grow lights I already had. bought a thermometer/humidity gauge that has a probe so I can monitor temps without having to open the lid as often in startup. it did come with a corded light socket and light bulb but never used. hydroponic humidifier works very well. the only real big downside to this is you still have to open it up to fan your mushrooms, co2 builds up pretty quick with 18 brf cakes. i installed a 15v brushless fan in one side running it on 3v. slight steady breeze for my mushrooms. I used poly fill for the filter for the fan and pvc tubing for the housing in case anyone else wants to turn theirs into fully automated system. I personally hate fanning. midwests hydroponic system seems to be keeping the humidity right at 99% only being on an hour at a time 3 times in 24 hours. good job guys I can tell a lot of thought went into this. I used to use a rigged cool air humidifier before seeing your kit. thanks.
Recieved my order quickly after ordering, everything was there expect the air pump. Called the customer service line and they are sending it out now. Great kit, everything you need to start a grow! Highly recommend
