What a deal the jars are! They're easy to use, even for beginners and you see results right away! Thoroughly impressed with you guys!

I am personally a fan of inoculating from agar rather than spores, so I took a slightly unusual approach with these jars to great success so far:

In my (DIY) laminar flow hood, I cut one or two wedges of agar and placed them on top of the vermiculite and closed them. I also decided to place four 20mm synthetic filter paper stickers on the four exposed holes on the top, as I am not using the top layer of vermiculite as a protective barrier.



A couple days later I realized I had made a huge mistake: The vermiculite at the top is, as a part of being a PROTECTIVE layer, is intentionally dry. Obviously dry is bad for inoculation.



To remediate, I simply opened the jars back up under the hood and misted the top with a misting spray bottle until damp. A couple weeks later, after having very low expectations, my 6 jars all appear free of contamination with beautiful white mycelium starting to fill into the jar from the top! :)

I received my kit very quickly in the mail and have begun my first growing attempt. The kit was nicely protected in shipment and arrived with some additional instructions and a free pen!

Great jars with reliable yield. I ordered these jars a second time recently, and already things are looking great. These are a great learning tool for those of us still working on the basics and not quite ready to make our own jars. Makes the learning curve easier!
