This is the product if you want to see your mycelium thrive. I placed some agar wedges in the Midwest grain jars and also some brown rice jars. Thus far there is no contest, at five days I have big healthy appearing white patches in the grain and scant growth in the rice. (Admittedly it's harder to see in the brown rice though there is an obvious difference.) A warning for grain jar newbs, such as I. At forty eight hours I noticed black dots on the mycelial patches. Researched online and was convinced this was some type of black mold, almost throwing the stuff out. Closer up inspection (in sunlight) however revealed the "black dots" are merely darker grain encompassed by mycelium except in locations where the grain is pressed up to the glass. Every day's a school day.
