Our unique Shiitake Strain is particularly suitable for beginners and hobby-growers. Starts great on Rye Berries! It even brings good results and even if the growing conditions and substrate has not yet been 100 % perfected. The fruiting bodies of this Shiitake are equally medium sized. It can also be cultivated on straw but on that substrate the harvest yield is smaller in comparison with cultivation on wood substrates. Can be fruited at temps anywhere between 62-85 degrees

    Features:

    • 10cc Liquid Culture syringe
    • First Generation G1 Genetics

The shiitake is an edible mushroom native to East Asia. Shiitake grow in groups on the decaying wood of deciduous trees, particularly shii, chestnut, oak, maple, beech, sweetgum, poplar, hornbeam, ironwood, mulberry, and chinquapin. Its natural distribution includes warm and moist climates. Fresh and dried shiitake have many uses in the cuisines of East Asia. In Japan, they are served in miso soup, used as the basis for a kind of vegetarian dashi, and as an ingredient in many steamed and simmered dishes. In Chinese cuisine, they are often sautéed in vegetarian dishes such as Buddha's delight.

Very hardy. This has been my first working with Shiitake and it's been fantastic. Puts up with a couple noobie mistakes and bounces back.
