Even in the midst of a pandemic, Midwest Grow Kits delivered on time without a hitch. The product is hi quality and Carr was taken in packaging for shipment. I will continue ordering from Midwest as they are the “go to” for Mycologists from beginners to advanced.

Hello! I have been buying Midwest's 5grain bags for over a year now and have had great success, but my last batch was very slow to colonize, I'm not sure if it was the spores I chose or the bags themselves. I found a way to speed up the bags almost by 50%! Even though the directions in the spawn bag guide says do not break up the 5grain during the first 14 days, I went ahead and did it anyways and here is how I did it. 1. Wait to you see a nice large patch of mycellium growing, at least 2 inches of growth. 2. Next break up the grain and distribute the white mycellium around by working it with your fingers. 3. Carefully re-shape the bag and gently pack the grains back to their original shape. (this is the key, if they are too loose they wont re-join and if they are too tight it may slow things up. So make sure to apply some pressure but not too much. 4. This works great for me! Good Luck!
